Jake Nelson, PTA

“As a physical therapist assistant, working with patients has become more than just fixing a diagnosis for me. It's turned into returning people to a healthy life, so they can enjoy time with their families pain free. It's one of the greatest joys of my life to hear about time spent with loved ones being improved because of the treatment I provide. I love building rapport with patients and coworkers, to bring as much of a family feel to the clinic as possible.”

Jake Nelson's passion for movement started as a young athlete while competitively playing soccer. He loved the sport and wanted to contribute to encouraging others to share this passion by becoming an assistant coach for his younger brother's team. These few years were the start of his love for coaching, training and giving back to the soccer community. Jake continued his soccer career through high school where, through the unfortunate events of arising knee problems and an ACL tear, he got his first real experience of Physical therapy. After 9+ months of recovery post surgery, Jake saw his love of Physical Therapy begin to grow and the interest of working in the field himself was manifested. Jake graduated from CSUF with a Bachelors in Kinesiology while working as a personal soccer coach to all ages, including collegiate and professional players. After obtaining his BS in Kinesiology, he spent time working in the chiropractic and personal training fields where his love of helping others began to fuel his love for physical therapy.

Jake decided to further his education by attending Stanbridge University where he was able to become a leader in the program and served as President of the Stanbridge Association for Physical Therapy Assistant Students and a Peer Tutor in order to mentor and assist the upcoming cohorts in their journey through the program. During this time, he had various clinical rotations, including hospital based settings, where he received experience in treating patients for pre/post surgical rehab, as well as patients with a wide variety of neurological disorders. Jake's experience in a wide range of settings, as well as his personal experience as an athlete, make him a clinician driven to help each individual hit their goals while providing a compassionate and motivating rehab experience.

In his spare time, Jake enjoys staying active, playing golf and pickleball, and hanging out with my family's Great Dane, Marley, and my yellow lab, Calvin"
