“As a physical therapist, I have been blessed to be in a profession where I can help enrich the lives of my patients on a daily basis while continually learning about the various intricacies of the human body. I strive to bring an evidence-based approach to my treatment style to help people gain more mobility, increase their strength, and improve their quality of life. I believe “motion is lotion” and movement is the key to helping patients get back to what they love doing.”
Jon completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine in 2012. He later received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) with high honors from the University of St. Augustine in San Marcos, California in 2018.
After achieving his doctorate degree, Jon went on to work at Gardena Physical therapy and Kinetic Chain physical therapy. Soon after, Jon went into a Sports Residency Program with Evidence in Motion where he went on to become a Board-Certified Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy (SCS). In residency he gained experience treating across varying sports and skill levels while working with the Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio. There he gained experience with providing on-field medical coverage and training room care for several semi-professional, high school, and club teams which included the Leander Wolfpack Football Team, San Antonio Warriors Football Team, Austin Sound Women’s Football Team, San Antonio Rugby Football Club, and the San Antonio Ballet Company. He trained to evaluate and treat athletes from all backgrounds, ACL management, and return to sport testing.
Jon pursues his passion for learning and working with athletes through continuing education ranging from certifications through the NSCA as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coaching, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, ImPACT Concussion, and EXOS Performance Specialist Certification. Jon aims to integrate performance training and sport injury management into his practice to better serve his patient population in getting back to what they love to do.
Jon is originally from Long Beach, CA, but recently moved back to Southern California from the Bay area. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, weight training, as well as searching for new places to eat. To offset his foodie adventures, Jon has been playing club rugby for nine years throughout California and Texas with plans to continue playing again this year.
