Stephanie Clements, PT, DPT

“One of the most powerful things I can do as a physical therapist is to educate my patients and to help them understand their bodies. When you know how and why things happen, you gain some control over your own recovery. I’m passionate about helping my patients get out of pain and stay out of pain. I strive to help people gain long-term management of their physical health so that they can heal their injuries and prevent injuries in the future. Movement is medicine!”

Stephanie was born and raised in Orange County. She graduated from California State University Long Beach in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science.

She then worked in a physical therapy clinic for a year, which helped her develop a love for wellness and injury prevention, and an appreciation for the physical therapy profession. She assisted with physical therapy patients, personal training and taught fitness/wellness classes.

She then went to Chapman University, where she received a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2015. She has clinical internship experience in multiple settings including outpatient orthopedic, inpatient rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, hospital/acute, and acute wound care.

After graduating, Stephanie worked in a wellness clinic that was highly specialized in postural and movement dysfunction with a strong emphasis on myofascial release, postural control, and breath work. She has received further education in Pilates for rehabilitation, IASTM, and additional coursework for post-operative care and specific joint injuries, including shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle.

She has practiced yoga since 2008 and completed her yoga teacher certification in 2015. She uses this experience to teach patients how to return to yoga without re-aggravating injuries and to educate on proper technique during complex movements.

She has an 11-year-old rescue dog named Tuxedo, and lives in Costa Mesa. When she isn’t working, she enjoys running, walking with her dog, anything outdoors including camping, hiking, backpacking, cooking, baking, reading, and finding new TV shows to watch!
